Description:
Are you an experienced Data Scientist, looking for the opportunity to play a key role in highly visible, enterprise wide business projects? Our client, one of the most dynamic and rapidly growing insurers in SEA has an opportunity that you don’t want to miss! Working with a team of BI Analysts, you will start in an independent role with the expectation of building a small team.
The responsibilities of the Data Scientist will include;
• Organize company and external data using effective data transformation and manipulation
techniques
• Deliver analytical insight that drive business performance, productivity and operating
efficiency
• Collect and analyse large and unstructured data sets from several sources
• Build efficient machine learning algorithms to identify key trends and insight
• Visualize and present the insights identified to stakeholders and management
• Identify and originate idea for business improvement
• Design and implement company process improvement plan
• Collaborate with stakeholders to implement new/enhanced workflow to optimize company
operating efficiency.
To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate;
• Proficient with Python and R and strong knowledge of programming languages like SQL
• Degree in quantitative discipline such as Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, etc.
• At least 3-5 years of experience in data analytics field
• Experience in data analytics in financial services is preferred
• Experience with big data technologies is an added advantage
• Excellent understanding of machine learning algorithms, data manipulation techniques,
and advanced statistical techniques and concepts
• Familiarity with business intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau)
• Ability to communicate complex data in a simple, actionable way
• Ability to visualize data in the most effective way possible for a given project or study
• Self-motivated, independent learner, and enjoy sharing knowledge with others
